Immigration Medical Exam
Medical Exams
Most immigration applicants need an Immigration Medical Exam (IME) by a panel physician. The exam checks your health and protects Canadian public health.
Medical Exam Process
Wait for Canada Immigration to request your medical exam (or do an upfront medical)
Find a panel physician in your country from Canada Immigration's list
Book an appointment and bring your passport, glasses/contacts, and medical reports
Complete the exam (physical, chest X-ray, blood/urine tests)
The physician sends the results to Canada Immigration electronically
Medical exam results are valid for 12 months. If your application is not processed within that time, you may need a new exam.
