Where to Get Your Photo Taken

Most professional photo studios (e.g., Walmart, Costco, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs)
Passport photo services at local photography studios — ask for PR card / passport specifications
Some airports and travel agencies offer photo services that meet Canada Immigration requirements
You cannot take the photo yourself; it must be taken by a commercial photographer

Digital vs. Paper Photos

If you apply online for PR card renewal or replacement, you may need to upload a digital version of your photo. The digital photo must meet the exact same specifications as the paper version: 50 mm x 70 mm with a white background, in JPEG format. If you apply by mail, you must submit two identical printed photos. Always ask your photographer for both the printed copies and a digital copy on a CD or USB.

Photo rejection is one of the most common reasons for PR card processing delays. Double-check all specifications before submitting your application. If you are unsure, take your photo to a professional studio that specializes in Canadian PR card and passport photos.
