Extend Your Stay as a Visitor
If you want to stay in Canada longer as a visitor, you can apply for a visitor record to extend your stay. You must apply before your current status expires.

Apply online before your current status expires
Pay the $100 CAD application fee
Explain why you want to extend your stay
Provide proof of funds to support yourself
Wait for processing (usually within weeks)
If your status expires before you apply, you must restore your status separately. Apply at least 30 days before expiry.
